Boiler mechanical upgrade

Removal of the old boiler refractory back end and installation of a new "wet end" to improve efficiency. This uses a series of water coils instead of bricks to insulate the rear of the boiler and regain "free" heat.

Boiler electronics upgrade

Removal of the old control system on the boiler and installation of new Rockwell controls. Included is a touch screen to give the operators better control of the boiler and a clearer picture of how it is operating.

Logyard Upgrade

Removal of all out of date electronics controlling the log in feed and upgrading to a new Siemens system. This streamlined the in feed and gives the mill operators better control via a touchscreen.

Tui Technology Installs New Digital Log Scanning System

In keeping with our policy of continuous improvement we have installed a complete new log scanning system in the sawmill. This replaces the old infra red scanning system with the latest digital laser technology. Tui Technology completed the turn key project ahead of schedule and under budget. It is also producing results in excess of our expectations so a huge thank you to the Tui Technology team.

Good Luck Brenda Fortune

Our best wishes go to Brenda Fortune when she takes part in the 2011 Gijon ITU Duathlon World Championships in September. Earthquake Update

We here at SRS were fortunate to have not suffered any significant damage as a result of the devastating Feburary 22nd Christchurch earthquake. Our thoughts go out to all those who have not been so lucky. As a way to show our support, the team at SRS built a fully self contained shower unit which is now on the streets of Christchurch.
